Think
you own an Experienced Trail Horse? Are you able to
Prove it ?
Welcome
to our Stamps of Excellence Page
Please
note: There are no Requirements for Registering your
Horse at the basic level !
The American Trail Horse Association's
7 Stamps of Excellence Program is divided into 7 Levels.
Upon completion of each level, the registered trail
horse is issued an ATHA “Stamp of Excellence”
for such completed level. This stamp is placed on the
back of your registry papers in the designated boxes.
You must first register your equine, and then work towards
your levels. For most levels, pictures and show papers
or video is accepted. For T7 stamps, a local representative
of ATHA, Inc. will observe your riding and sign off
as a witness to the completion of this final level.
You may also compete at ATHA approved Trail Shows and
Trail Rides where winning or speed doesn't count, but
how you negotiate the obstacles on trail does. Events
will be held at Headquarters or as put together by your
State Representative, depending upon available ATHA
Representatives. You will receive a check list with
your registration papers, to help your determine how
far and fast you are moving along the stamp process.
The checklist is also used for a local representative
to sign off on your level completion.
The
Levels:
Most of these levels should
be easily attainable by more experienced trail horses,
while others have something to advance towards in their
future. There is NO time limit on completing the levels.
Work at your own pace!
T-1 starts very easy with grooming
basics such as the lifting of all four feet, etc. As
you move on, you will encounter water crossing, bridges,
trailer loading, etc..all the way to T-7 which has some
advanced challenges. Contact ATHA to get your current
requirement checklist, however this list is included
with your REGISTRY PAPERS. Completing the 7 Stamps Of
Excellence Program is a great way to PROVE your trail
horse's
ABILITY. These ability levels are stamped on the back
your registration papers. Obtaining these Stamps make
your equine an Experienced Registered American Trail
Horse that has proven its ability on trail verifiable
by the association via the provided documentation by
the owner or Representative. We encourage 4H Horse Clubs
to register and hold “Trail Trials” of their
own and all participants CAN complete some levels making
4H more and challenging at the same time.
As
an added bonus....
All horse clubs that volunteer
for local reps receive discounts on registering their
horses in the club.
Fee
schedule for acquiring Levels
You may choose to
do most of these levels by pictures, video yourself,
or witnessed in person by an ATHA Rep.
If you don't have a local rep yet, you can chose to
attend an ATHA “Trail Trials” to have a
judge witness you thru many levels.
There is a $5 per stamp fee.
